Former Premier League midfielder Don Hutchinson has urged West Ham to consider signing Borussia Monchengladbach striker Breel Embolo this summer.
This comes as Irons’ boss David Moyes continues to hunt for a frontman to replace Sebastien Haller who left the club for Ajax during the January transfer window.
Embolo is currently enjoying an impressive European Championship campaign and was part of the Switzerland side that shocked World Cup holders France earlier in the week.
Speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Hutchinson suggested a Premier League club should be taking a serious look at the 24-year-old.
He’s a terrific player with loads of speed, as an addition to the Premier League I think he’d be amazing, it would suit him down to the ground. The club I could see him playing for, West Ham United. He’s a younger Michail Antonio and he would complement him really well with all of those number 10s playing behind him.
Embolo has earned an average Sofascore rating of 7.13 in four appearances at Euro 2020 and could be in line to face Spain in the quarter-final stage.
During 2020/21, the 47-cap ace scored six goals and registered another six assists in 41 outings across all competitions.

Valued at £14.4million and under contract in Germany until 2023 (Transfermarkt), Embolo would likely command a fee upwards of £20million.
Albeit predominantly a central striker, the Swiss ace is capable of operating on either wing and behind a focal point target man, all attributes that would endear Moyes further to the signing.
Whether or not there would be any desire to sell is unclear, however, Hutchinson is right to cite Embolo as a candidate for a place in the Hammers’ squad.
