West Ham coach Stuart Pearce has hailed Hammers’ duo Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal for their efforts in Euro 2020.
The Czech Republic pair played their part as the nation reached the quarter-finals on Sunday evening with a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands.
Despite failing to score or assist in the Puskas Arena, the Irons’ stars both earned Sofascore ratings above seven for their impressive performances.
Working as a pundit for talkSPORT, the first-team coach at the London Stadium, Pearce, was full of praise for the two.
Twitter:
“I’m very proud of both Soucek & Coufal.” They epitomize the #CZE’s.”
“Everyone is talking about #Eng’s route… https://t.co/VloYJccJyw (@talkSPORT)
The 59-year-old claimed Soucek and Coufal ‘epitomised’ the Czechs with their work rate and professionalism.
Signed for a combined sum of £19.98million (Transfermarkt), the duo missed just four Premier League matches between them last season, proving to be an integral part of David Moyes’ side.

As double signing go, the 2020 raid of Slavia Prague by West Ham has to be among the most successful for some time.
Both men have proven to be incredibly acquisitions who would fetch three times the fee they were originally signed for.
There will be yet another chance to see the Irons in action on Saturday when the Czech Republic face Denmark in Baku.
