Much maligned former West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic is reportedly clamouring for a return to east London this summer.
The controversial Austrian frontman is believed to be keen on a comeback at the London Stadium having left the club in testing circumstances back in 2019.
Now, with David Moyes seemingly keen on facilitating a return with the squad in need of additional attacking options – talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has claimed on the Gameday Podcast, as cited by West Ham Fan Zone on Twitter, a move could be in the offing.
A few murmurings that Marko Arnautovic would fancy a return to the London Stadium. I think David Moyes would probably welcome that from what I’m told. I’m not convinced the fans and the owners would.
Since departing the Irons, Arnautovic has netted 20 goals in 39 outings for Chinese Super League side Shanghai Port.
The 32-year-old has also been in strong recent form – netting three goals in just four appearances this season.

Signing the experienced 87-cap Austrian would surely be more trouble than it’s worth.
Albeit the powerful striker would likely be desperate to return and make up for lost time – given the unrest caused the first time around it may not be a risk worth taking.
Moyes more than anyone knows about second chances at West Ham – having been afforded one himself – but does the Scot truly want to risk upsetting the incredible harmony within the camp.
Moreover, Arnautovic has spent two years somewhat in the wilderness and at 32 may struggle to reach the required levels of the Premier League once again.
