West Ham are believed to be starting negotiations with Vladimir Coufal over a new contract.
The 28-year-old has been a revelation since arriving for £5million from Slavia Prague in October (The Guardian).
Despite making a debut season outside of the Czech Republic, the powerful right-back earned an impressive average Sofascore rating of 7.01 from 34 Premier League outings.
Currently under contract until 2023, according to Sky Sports, as cited by Football London and West Ham United News on Twitter, the Hammers are keen to tie their man down.

The same initial report claims the Irons are among five Premier League clubs chasing Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral – another compatriot of Coufal and Tomas Soucek.
Kral, a 23-year-old central midfielder, played 30 times this season for Spartak.

Coufal richly deserves a new deal, of that there is no doubt.
Nobody could’ve predicted the right-back would’ve hit the ground running as he did – especially given the lack of experience outside of his homeland.
The 13-cap ace has been truly sensational and recently earned high praise whilst being named in Jamie Carragher’s team of the season.
As for Kral, adding a central midfielder to the ranks is a must this summer to offer a helping hand to the hard-worked Declan Rice and Soucek.
