West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has been pulling up trees in the Premier League almost since the moment he arrived on loan from Slavia Prague last January.
Having made an impact during a short-term stay, the Hammers acted to make the move permanent last summer.
Soucek has gone on to become a lynchpin in David Moyes’ side – scoring nine league goals from a predominantly holding midfield role.
Last week, Sky Sports MNF punditry duo Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville both overlooked the Czech ace when naming their teams of the season – an oversight Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has been left bemused over.
Twitter: How I’m not seeing Soucek in any teams of the season is a madness….the guys been unplayable, also I’ll put Digne/… https://t.co/VrhSuVUGjy (@YannickBolasie)
The 26-year-old has barely missed a minute for the Hammers this season – earning an average Sofascore rating of 7.13 across 36 league outings.
Capped 33 times by the Czech Republic, Soucek has looked to be a bargain from the outset for £15million (Sky Sports).

There is little doubt the Czech midfielder warrants more recognition for what has been a superb 2020/21 campaign personally.
Alongside Declan Rice, who himself was perhaps in the running for honours prior to his recent injury setback, Soucek has been a pillar of strength in the Moyes midfield – allowing the likes of Pablo Fornals and Jesse Lingard to flourish further forwards.
