Former Premier League defender has sensationally claimed that it would be no surprise were Tottenham to attempt to land West Ham boss David Moyes as their next manager.
The North Londoners are still on the lookout for a permanent candidate to fill the managerial void having sacked Jose Mourinho and placed Ryan Mason in charge until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, in east London, Moyes has transformed the fortunes of the Hammers and up until recently had the side with a realistic chance of a top-four finish.
Despite the remarkable campaign, the Scot’s future at The London Stadium remains in question as Moyes reaches the last few months of a contract with the club.
Palmer, who played 261 times in the English top-flight, has told This Is Futbol that it is not inconceivable the Spurs hierarchy would make a play to land the Irons’ boss.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Spurs were interested in him [after] the season he’s had and the job he’s done at West Ham.
Ironically as the Premier League heads into the final two fixtures of the 2020/21 campaign, West Ham and Tottenham are neck and neck on 59 points in seventh and sixth respectively.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Whilst Spurs could do an awful lot worse than Moyes – for Hammers, this would be a crippling blow.
Having overseen a remarkable season, to walk away would be damaging in itself – let alone to a bitter rival.
Although there are no signs Moyes will leave the club at the end of the season, tying down the 58-year-old long-term must be a priority as soon as appropriate.
