Irons’ manager Slaven Bilic watched on after half time as a brace from Anthony Martial charged the entire complexion of the game and the evening.
Staring down the barrel of an unhappy ending at Upton Park, Michail Antonio levelled the match with 15 minutes remaining before Winston Reid headed home a late winner.
With the atmosphere at fever pitch and the noise tantamount, those West Ham heroes involved on that final night saw out the match and the supporters in attendance had one final victory to celebrate.
Fireworks followed the final whistle as the Hammers marked their move to the London Stadium.
Back in the present day, David Moyes‘ side will be hoping to sign off from the 2021/22 campaign in a similar style and qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time.
