West Ham star Declan Rice delivered a quick-witted response as Darren Randolph returned to action on Monday afternoon with West Ham United’s Under-23 side.
The Irish goalkeeper had been sidelined for several weeks with a hip problem but made a successful comeback, as the young Hammers came past their Everton counterparts 2-1 in a Premier League 2 clash at Rush Green.
Despite conceding a late penalty, the 33-year-old watched on as Ademipo Odubeko bagged a second-half brace for the Irons.
After taking to Instagram to reveal his joy at being back in a competitive sense, Rice replied to say: “Had a cigar out, you did.”

The 22-year-old is currently out of action himself having picked up a knee injury whilst away on international duty.
David Moyes will be keen for both stars to make rapid returns to full fitness in order to help the sides charge towards European qualification.
