West Ham could be set to miss out on January transfer target Odsonne Edouard as the Celtic striker edges towards a move to Leicester City, according to the Daily Mail.
The same publication reported the Hammers’ interest during the winter transfer window with a £35m fee mooted.
However, the Foxes, who are managed by former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, look to have won the race for the Frenchman and could complete the deal for just £15m when Edouard enters the final 12 months of his contract this summer.
The report claims the 23-year-old will sign for the Midlands club with a view to being the long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy at the end of the season, bringing to an end a four-year spell at Celtic Park.
The powerful forward has added 20 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions this term, as Celtic relinquish their stranglehold of the Scottish Premiership title.
Having previously held an interest David Moyes will now be forced to look at other targets, with Adam Armstrong, Ivan Toney and Eddie Nketiah amongst the main contenders.

Another one bites the dust.
That may not actually be a bad thing as clarity of thought can be as important as anything else when it comes to identifying targets, as proved to be the case in January when a scattergun of speculation saw the Hammers end up fruitless.
Despite Edouard’s obvious strengths, which would’ve made him the ideal Michail Antonio replacement, and prolific goalscoring record north of the border, he remains unproven in the Premier League and as ever there is a risk attached to that.
