Jack Wilshere has been told to consider a move to Major League Soccer by former West Ham player Joe Cole, who spoke about the midfielder whilst appearing on TalkSport.
With rumours circulating about the future of the former England man, who has struggled for fitness since arriving at the London Stadium, Cole suggested that Wilshere would ‘love the United States’.
Wilshere’s current deal expires next summer and many have suggested tha the 28-year-old needs a move to resurrect his career sooner rather than later.
Cole, who played for the Hammers for five years between 1998 and 2003 has suggested the warmer weather could help the injury-prone star avoid future setbacks.
Having spent the final two years of his playing career with the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Cole said:
I really like Jack, he’s a fantastic player and I think he’s very similar to myself, in that when he came onto the scene it was all very exciting for everyone.
The 38-year-old said:
His injuries have been so much, I think he just needs to play football now and enjoy himself. It actually makes your body feel a lot better playing in those climates.
Wilshere made his first outing of the campaign in West Ham’s absence struck 5-1 Carabao Cup victory over Hull City on Tuesday, playing the full 90 minutes.
