West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna was handed another start by manager David Moyes against Arsenal and many fans were impressed by his display.
The 31-year-old has played the entire 90 minutes in every match since Moyes took over the Hammers (Transfermarkt), which shows that the manager clearly rates him very highly.
Ogbonna defended very well together with centre-back partner Issa Diop, but they were powerless to prevent Alexandre Lacazette netting the winner for the Gunners with just over 10 minutes remaining in normal time last Saturday.
The Italian international made five clearances in the match, the second-most in the West Ham team (WhoScored), with Diop making seven.
Ogbonna also played a key part in limiting Arsenal to just two shots on target in the match.
Many of the club’s fans have taken to Twitter to show their appreciation towards the central defender, who admitted on the platform that the defeat in north London was very hard to take.
