Many Liverpool fans were in a state of panic earlier today as Jurgen Klopp confirmed Sadio Mane will miss the games against West Ham and Southampton.
Mane was forced off in last week’s narrow win against Wolves and it was later revealed he suffered a hamstring injury.
Speaking to the media, as cited by the Evening Standard’s David Lynch, Klopp confirmed the news plenty of Liverpool supporters were dreading:
Sadio will not be involved against West Ham and probably not Southampton. After that he should be fine.
West Ham will be aiming to stop the Reds from going 19 points ahead of Premier League title rivals Manchester City with a win at the London Stadium.
David Moyes’ side are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference at the moment and a loss by four goals or more would see them drop into it.
These fans aren’t best pleased with the Senegalese ace’s absence, which undoubtedly makes the Hammers’ task on Wednesday slightly more achievable.
