A report by French outlet L’Équipe claims that West Ham United were interested in signing former Hammers star Dimitri Payet.
However, Sky Sports have rubbished those suggestions, stating that there has been no interest in Payet from the Hammers, who are still unhappy with the player after he went on strike to force a move from the club back in 2017.
Payet, now 32, made 48 Premier League appearances for the Hammers, scoring 11 goals and providing 18 assists (WhoScored.com) before completing a return to Marseille in 2017.
On the tweet that Sky used to promote their story, they included a picture of Payet and it would be fair to say that he isn’t looking as slim as he did at West Ham!
