West Ham United target Olivier Giroud is closing in on a move to Italian giants Inter Milan, according to a report on the Evening Standard.
The report states that Inter are hoping to hand Giroud his medical this weekend ahead of the proposed transfer from Chelsea for £8.5m.
The Hammers have been linked with a move for the Frenchman who has fallen heavily out of favour at Stamford Bridge.
The striker has only made five appearances in the Premier League this season.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
The Hammers are on the market for a striker and we feel this represents a blow to them because Giroud is an experienced top-flight striker.
The 33-year-old has netted a total of 78 goals in the Premier League and I felt that a short-term loan deal until the end of the season would be good business because of his obvious goal threat.
However, most West Ham fans don’t want Giroud at the London Stadium and it looks like their wish might just be fulfilled.
