Andriy Yarmolenko’s season started so well but following no goals and just one assist in his last nine Premier League appearances, he’s become a forgotten man at West Ham United.
After tearing his abductor muscle last month, Yarmolenko is yet to feature in any of Moyes’ squads since replacing Manuel Pellegrini.
According to Turkish website Fotospor though, in Sport Witness, the Ukrainian may be actively looking for an exit after his agents offered him to Besiktas.
The report does claim, however, that although it’s a possible destination for Yarmolenko, a move is unlikely due to financial reasons.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Despite Yarmolenko’s hot form at the start of this season, scoring three goals in five Premier League starts, injuries have tarnished his progress.
The 30-year-old has made just 25 appearances since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2018 and his squad status under Moyes is unclear.
We believe West Ham should only offload Yarmolenko this month if a replacement is acquired, especially after Nathan Holland’s loan move to Oxford United.
Moyes’ squad is relatively thin as it is, so we feel it wouldn’t be wise to let players who could actually make a positive impact leave mid-way through the season.
I think if he stays fit, Yarmolenko can certainly help West Ham move away from the bottom three but at this stage, it’s probably a big ‘if’.
