West Ham United’s January pursuit of a new goalkeeper has taken another twist following Lukasz Fabianski’s injury against Sheffield United on Friday night.
The 34-year-old Pole was withdrawn after just 15 minutes at Bramall Lane, before his replacement, David Martin’s mistake led to Oli McBurnie’s 53rd-minute winner
According to Football Insider, West Ham have now submitted a £7million bid for Cardiff City stopper Neil Etheridge, who was left out of the South Wales derby on Sunday.
The report claims it’s an initial £6 million offer rising to a potential £7 million with add-ons amid doubts over Darren Randolph’s fitness after a failed medical.

I think, because the need for a new goalkeeper is so high, West Ham are right to look at other options and Etheridge could prove to be a great signing.
The 29-year-old has spent just one season in the Premier League; relegated dismally with Cardiff City in the 2018-19 campaign.
However, his performances and statistics earned high praise, keeping 10 clean sheets in 38 appearances and making an average of four saves per game.
Cardiff manager Neil Harris has admitted Etheridge could be heading for an exit this month, and we feel he poses as a better option than Randolph.
