Chelsea are plotting a £40m move for West Ham United centre-back Issa Diop, according to a report on the Express.
The Frenchman is a key figure for the Hammers, proven by him only missing five Premier League matches so far this season.

There is also interest in the defender from Tottenham Hotspur as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his defensive unit.
Diop’s current contract with West Ham expires in the summer of 2023 so the club are under no obligation to let him leave.
The report states that the Blues are contemplating a £40m bid for Diop, who joined the Hammers in June 2018 for around £22m and is now one of the main defenders at the club.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
The Hammers should not even consider letting Diop leave. The towering defender is one of the best in his position and is tipped to have a very bright future.
Hence why clubs of the calibre of Chelsea and Spurs are so desperate to secure the 23-year-old’s signature.
David Moyes and West Ham have a real gem on their hands and £40m for a player with so much potential could be considered to be far too low in the current market.
