Arthur Masuaku hasn’t really cemented the left-back spot at West Ham United, with Aaron Cresswell the commonly preferred name.
Plenty of fans believe he still has lots to offer as an attacking outlet though, however, he may not be around for much longer.
According to Fotospor, cited by Sport Witness, Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has started talks with West Ham about Masuaku’s availability.
The Turkish giants are in desperate need of a left-back due to their only player in that position being injured and are eyeing a January arrival.
The report claims there has yet to be a breakthrough in negotiations though and Masuaku is still firmly a Hammers player.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
If you’re West Ham, it would make little sense to let Masuaku leave this month because he still has plenty to offer the squad.
Cresswell is purely inconsistent and you could even argue that the 26-year-old is the better option, bar his defensive flaws.
In my opinion, this move is unlikely to go down this month and the chances of David Moyes sanctioning it are very low.
January is always described as silly season when reports like this arise and, for now at least, it should be dismissed.
