West Ham United’s need for midfield reinforcements this month is real and one name won’t stop cropping up; Franck Kessie.
The AC Milan midfielder has been touted as on the market by reports in Italy and West Ham are said to have pushed their interest further.
According to il Corriero dello Sport, cited by Milan News, the Hammers have firmed up their interest by submitting an initial bid.
The report claims the offer has been deemed insufficient to Milan’s €25million valuation though, and West Ham will have to up the ante if they are to secure Kessie’s services.

The 23-year-old is a pure powerhouse and would add aggression and tenacity to David Moyes’ midfield options.
Also an Ivory Coast international, he’s been a key fixture in Milan’s team this season, making 15 Serie A appearances.
We wouldn’t be wrong to believe there was something in this story because the links simply won’t go away, whether West Ham will actually conjure up the funds needed to acquire him is another story though.
With both Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere not expected to be at the club beyond the summer, it’s crucial Declan Rice gets some competition.
It’d not only help his development but would loosen the pressure on such a young player to carry the weight of West Ham’s midfield.
