Chelsea winger Pedro is nearing the end of his current deal and questions are starting to be asked whether he’ll stay at Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard is out of contract in the summer and if recent reports are anything to go by, he’s likely to become a free agent.
According to French website FootMercato, cited by Football 365, Chelsea ‘probably’ won’t renegotiate Pedro’s contract with a trio of clubs circling.
The report claims West Ham join Aston Villa and Fenerbache’s interest in the 32-year-old in anticipation of his free-agent status.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Pedro has been a great servant for the Blues and certainly still has what it takes to do a job in the Premier League.
It presents a chance for the Hammers to complete a shrewd piece of business if given the chance, with the only potential concern being his salary.
Whether there’s much truth in this report remains to be seen but if West Ham’s interest is concrete, it would make sense.
You wouldn’t say a move to the London Stadium is much of a step down for Pedro, financially speaking anyway.
The wing positions aren’t exactly a priority but if the chance to strenghten arises, there’s every reason to go for it.
