Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United departure could not only change the course of the season but also plans for the January transfer window.
The Hammers have been frequently linked with Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa in recent history, but that potential transfer could now be off the cards.
According to the Daily Mail, Pellegrini was pushing the board to sign Barbosa next month, which seemed to aggravate his higher-ups.
With David Moyes replacing Pellegrini, it’s likely West Ham’s interest in ‘Gabigol’ has now broken down and other alternatives will be looked at.
Results simply weren’t good enough and it doesn’t sound like the Chilean boss was helping himself much off the pitch either.

It’s a shame that a move for the 23-year-old is unlikely to materialise after such an impressive season on loan at Flamengo.
Especially considering his touted value is just £20million, which could prove to be a bargain for such a big prospect.
It’s unlikely Moyes will be looking at other targets though, although surely he’ll see the need for a new striker to provide support for Sebastien Haller.
Watching how the Frenchman reacts to new management will be intriguing in itself after a below-par start to life in England.
