In one of the more unexpected transfer stories in the build-up to January, Manchester City are said to be eyeing a move for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.
According to AS, cited by Sport Witness, Guaita’s impressive form could be rewarded with a move to the Premier League champions next summer.
The report adds that West Ham United are also interested in the Spaniard though, as they search for a new first-team goalkeeper.
With Claudio Bravo expected to leave the club, that could leave Scott Carson as Ederson’s only senior back-up so Man City have already contacted Guaita’s party.

This could be a more difficult decision than it looks on paper for Guaita because he could potentially fight Lukasz Fabianski for no. 1 spot at West Ham.
He’s never really likely to surpass Ederson as first-choice at Man City but there’s obviously the draw of winning trophies.
It’s an interesting rumour, but I expect West Ham to sign a new goalkeeper in January rather than wait until the summer and it’s unlikely Palace will want to lose their best option at this stage of the season.
It’ll be interesting to see which name the Hammers pursue.
