It’s no secret that West Ham United will be pursuing a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window and a new report claims they’re targeting two in particular, including a former Chelsea man.
According to Claret & Hugh, West Ham are tracking both Middlesbrough’s Darren Randolph and soon-to-be free agent Asmir Begovic.
The latter’s AFC Bournemouth contract expires in January and he’ll be available once he’s returned from his current loan spell at Azerbaijani club Qarabag.
He’s said to be a ‘marginal favourite’ to become West Ham’s new man in between the sticks, but talks are ongoing with Randolph’s representatives.
Begovic fell out of favour at Bournemouth after joining from Chelsea in 2017 but is ‘keen’ to return to England.

If the Hammers are simply looking for a back-up option for Lukasz Fabianski, there would be no harm in recruiting Begovic on a free transfer.
The Bosnian bears plenty of top-flight experience, so it’d probably be the question of whether he’d want to play second fiddle again.
It’s interesting to not see Jack Butland’s name in the report on the back of recent reports, but Stoke City’s valuation may have put Manuel Pellegrini off the idea.
