West Ham United are said to be eyeing a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama, but their attempts may be squashed immediately.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has had clashes with West Ham’s board in the past and it seems to have come back to bite the latter in this particular situation.
According to Football Insider, Levy is ready to block any approach the Hammers make for Wanyama in the January transfer window.
The reports adds that both Manuel Pellegrini and Mario Husillos are long-term admirers of the Kenya international and believe he’d be a fine addition.

If other reports are to be believed, West Ham may have an attractive back-up in Genk star Sander Berge but only time will tell.
Wanyama must be ready to leave Spurs after featuring just four times this season, following his failed exit attempt in the summer.
A switch across London to West Ham would make sense and wouldn’t pose as much as a financial risk for the club.
There are far better options out there if the Hammers are searching for a long-term midfield star to come in and compete with, or play alongside Declan Rice.
It’ll be an interesting January window, that’s for sure.
