Lukasz Fabianski’s return to action is imminent but if West Ham United have learnt something from whilst he’s been gone, it’s that another goalkeeper is needed.
Roberto’s shambolic period as the experienced Pole’s deputy put his West Ham career to bed, whilst David Martin isn’t getting any younger, so many believe the club should target a new ‘keeper in January.
The Hammers have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Stoke City stopper Jack Butland though, with the Daily Mail reporting the Championship club won’t entertain a loan bid for his services.
Instead, the Potters will demand £20million for Butland, which should be deemed as a lot of money for a back-up goalkeeper.

The report also claims that Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and Middlesbrough’s Darren Randolph are also being considered.
Both names offer enough quality for West Ham to be confident in having at least two solid ‘keeper options.
Butland could be more of a summer target, which may see the Hammers wait until the end of the season to potentially move for him as Fabianski’s replacement.
You’d imagine the club will want to sort the problem sooner rather than later though, and a January arrival is likely.
