Newcastle United and West Ham United are facing tough competition to sign Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen, with Tottenham Hotspur now one of the interested parties.
Bowen has been in scintillating form for Hull this season, scoring 15 goals and providing four assists in 22 Championship games on the back of 22 league goals last term.
West Ham have recently been linked with the 22-year-old but according to the Northern Echo, Spurs scouts have convinced Jose Mourinho to target the £20million-rated star.
Spurs not only have the pull factor, but also the financial power over West Ham and Newcastle to secure the signing of Bowen.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Don’t get me wrong, Bowen would be a fantastic signing for the Hammers and would almost certainly improve Manuel Pellegrini’s attacking options.
However, there are priority areas West Ham must address in January and £20m can go a long way in strengthening the squad further.
You’d imagine a goalkeeper, holding midfielder and striker will be targeted sooner rather than later, however, January always proves to be a tricky period to complete business.
The club will certainly try and strengthen the current options though and although Bowen would do just that, there are more important players out there.
