West Ham United’s 1-0 win at Southampton on Friday night may have saved Manuel Pellegrini’s job for the time being, but replacement speculation continues.
The Hammers will need to produce a string of convincing performances and results before Pellegrini’s status as manager is cemented further, so talk of a new face in the dugout won’t go away easily.
A new name has been thrown into the mix this week, with Italian outlet La Nazione, cited by Sport Witness, claiming West Ham are eyeing former Italy boss Cesare Prandelli.
The 62-year-old has managed 14 clubs throughout his career, most recently Serie A side Genoa before departing in the summer.
La Nazione claim West Ham have ‘sent a proposal’ to Prandelli, who is said to be ‘tempted’ by the prospect of taking over at the London Stadium.

The report adds he could very well end up in England soon, but honestly you have to feel there are stronger candidates.
Considering Everton look to be convincing Carlo Ancelotti to become their new boss, there’s no doubt West Ham have the same or even a stronger financial pull power to lure names of the same stature.
For now though, Pellegrini remains at the club and unless we see another collapse like after the Chelsea match, it’s unlikely he’s going anywhere soon.
