Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has revealed there may be mass interest in Felipe Anderson if he continues to lose game time at West Ham United.
Anderson is under contract until 2022 but hasn’t impressed this season, registering just four assists and failing to find the net once.
Speaking to Football Insider, Bent explained that Anderson may not find a way back into the team soon and it could lead to other clubs circling for his services:
I think it’ll be a while before he gets back in. But the danger is other teams will know what quality he has got and if he is sitting on West Ham’s bench then there’s going to be no shortage of takers.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
The 26-year-old has featured 17 times for West Ham this season but didn’t feature at all against Southampton, where Manuel Pellegrini successfully altered his system in the 1-0 win.
With Fornals beginning to create more goals, his place on the left in a 4-4-2 may be cemented for the Boxing Day clash at Crystal Palace.
That would most likely leave Anderson out of the side, so the Brazilian has plenty of work to do in training to prove he’s capable of making an impact.
He’s endured a difficult season so far, but there will be interest in his signature so the Hammers can’t take him for granted.
