Saturday evening’s trip to Southampton could be Manuel Pellegrini’s final match in charge of West Ham United, pending one daunting outcome.
West Ham are languishing one point above the relegation zone after just a single win in 10 Premier League games and could find themselves in the bottom three this weekend.
Should the Hammers lose to Southampton and Aston Villa triumph over Sheffield United, Pellegrini’s side will slump into the drop zone.
According to the Telegraph, West Ham were set to review Pellegrini’s position at the end of the season but a decision could be made as early as the weekend if the worst-case scenario occurs.

With many fans now firmly against the Chilean, it only seems like a matter of time before he departs the London Stadium.
That huge win at Chelsea only seemed to delay the inevitable and not a lot of people will be confident of leaving St. Mary’s with a positive result.
After such a solid start to the campaign, it’s a great shame to see the Hammers unravel like this but the players seem to be as low in confidence as they ever have been.
I think it’s time for a change before it’s too late.
