Jack Wilshere has returned to training ahead of tonight’s trip to Wolves after missing the last five Premier League outings.
His return boosts Manuel Pellegrini’s options as West Ham United look to build on their uplifting triumph at Chelsea on Saturday.
Since Wilshere has been missing, the Hammers slipped to a disappointing draw against Sheffield United at the London Stadium and the three consecutive defeats that followed.
It’s unlikely Wilshere will start, but even having him on the bench would provide Pellegrini with important midfield reinforcements for what is expected to be a tough battle in the Midlands.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Wilshere hasn’t played to his full potential since joining West Ham, but he still remains to be an important member of the squad.
If he can discover some form, it’d genuinely be like a new signing ahead of a busy and crucial stage of the campaign.
With Manuel Lanzini and Lukasz Fabianski’s returns just around the corner, the Hammers’ season could well and truly be back on track if they can string a run of performances and results together.
Many West Ham supporters will hope Wilshere can stay injury-free now he’s back because he genuinely could make a difference.
