West Ham United have been pursuing potential free agent goalkeepers that could join the club in January amid the current crisis involving Roberto.
The 33-year-old Spaniard arrived as a free agent in the summer and has been deputising for the injured Lukasz Fabianski since September.
An array of mistakes on top of the Hammers’ poor run of form have led to the club pursuing other goalkeepers, but their search has been unsuccessful.
According to Claret & Hugh, West Ham would need to sign a British ‘keeper due to only having one homegrown spot left in the squad.
Apart from 42-year-old Roy Carroll, only former Millwall stopper Jordan Archer is available but the club holds major doubts because ‘he hasn’t kicked a ball in six months.’

The unsuccessful search means that West Ham will either have to stick with Roberto or opt for third-choice goalkeeper David Martin until Fabianski returns.
It’s been a horrendous period that has squandered the club’s hopes of a successful season in which they would challenge for European football.
Once Fabianski re-enters the picture, you’d hope to see an improvement from the whole team knowing they have someone they can trust in between the sticks.
That time can’t come soon enough.
