West Ham United are expected to be active in the January transfer window, with the striker position one of a few areas requiring attention.
Sebastien Haller is in serious need of competition with Albian Ajeti yet to convince since his summer move from Basel.
The Hammers may have found their man though, following a stand-out performance during the weekend just gone.
According to Calciomercato, West Ham want to sign Paderborn striker Streli Mamba in January and are in the ‘front row’ for his services.
The 25-year-old netted a brilliant brace to put the Bundesliga’s bottom club 3-0 up at half-time against Borussia Dortmund on Friday.
His tally now stands at five goals in 10 games this season, which isn’t bad at all when you consider how Paderborn’s campaign has gone so far.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Mamba possesses great pace and confidence in one-on-one situations and could very well be interested in a move if his side’s struggles continue.
Haller scoring just once in his last eight Premier League outings stresses the need for a bit of competition to push him to the next level.
Mamba is yet to hit his peak and could be snapped up for an affordable fee, so it’d be a smart move if West Ham do go in for him in the new year.
