West Ham United’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at home this weekend stretched the club’s abysmal winless run to seven games, increasing the pressure on Manuel Pellegrini.
Now just three points above the relegation zone, West Ham are said to be considering candidates to replace Pellegrini and a new name has entered the fold.
According to The Mirror, a British boss would be the preference and Sheffield United’s Chris Wilder is currently at the centre of the crosshairs.
The report claims Chris Hughton and Rafa Benitez are also on the shortlist, but Wilder has particularly caught the eye.

His Sheffield United side have been the surprise of the season so far, currently sitting in sixth in the Premier League above the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Considering many expected the Blades to suffer a brutal relegation, Wilder has earned mass plaudits for his work at Bramall Lane and interest in his services is unsurprising.
Pellegrini’s time to turn the Hammers’ form around is running out and with such a daunting run of fixtures on the horizon, could potentially be out of the job by Christmas.
Something certainly has to change in east London.
