West Ham United’s horrendous goalkeeping situation has been one of the stories of the season so far, but all could be solved soon.
With Lukasz Fabianski gradually recovering from a torn hip and the January transfer window right around the corner, the dilemma could be coming to a close.
According to ExWHUEmployee, Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland is on West Ham’s radar and pursuit for his services could be launched.
Speaking on the West Ham Way podcast this week, cited by Hammers News, he revealed the idea has been touted in what could be an initial loan move.
We are apparently looking to sign another keeper, possibly because we’ve realised how dire the situation is. There is talk of trying to get Jack Butland from Stoke. Potentially sign him on loan with a view to a permanent deal, obviously if you are going to get him on loan they would pay a large fee.

With Stoke in severe danger of dropping into League One this season, Butland will want to jump ship and West Ham could provide that perfect opportunity.
The club are said to be looking at options with Premier League experience and he certainly has that.
One question that would have to be asked to is would Butland be Fabianski’s successor, or simply back-up once the Pole returns?
Either way, he’s certainly a good option.
