Lukasz Fabianski has been out of action since September but has finally provided West Ham United fans with an update on his recovery.
The 34-year-old tore his hip muscle during a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth and required surgery which has seen him spend a prolonged period on the sidelines.
His deputy, Roberto, has made the headlines for the wrong reasons and makes it even better news that Fabianski’s rehab is going well.
Speaking to the official club website, the Polish goalkeeper revealed:
I’m all good. I’m feeling like the rehab is going in the right direction, in the right way. I think I’m getting better and I’m doing more things, so hopefully, it will continue like that and it will be successful. When you do surgery on that kind of muscle, you have to be very careful, according to the specialist, for the first six weeks, and this was my fifth week. This week will be steady but then hopefully I will be able to kick on a bit more after that six weeks are up.

The sooner Fabianski is back, the better. It’s incredible just how much West Ham have missed him whilst he’s been gone.
It’s a great idea to wait longer to make sure he’s fully fit before returning to the field following the first major setback he’ll have faced in the last half-decade.
