Plenty of West Ham United fans have been crying out for stronger depth alongside Declan Rice in defensive midfield and the solution could be in the form of a 6’4″ Manchester United star.
According to 90Min, West Ham are considering a move for Nemanja Matic in January, with the player looking for a way out of Old Trafford due to playing time, or lack of it.
Matic, now 31 years old, has made just five appearances for Man United this season and has seemingly fallen behind Scott McTominay, Fred and Andreas Pereira in the midfield pecking order.
He’s missed the Red Devils’ last seven matches through injury but with his contract set to expire in the summer, could be snapped up for a bargain fee in January.

Matic is fond of London considering he’s spent two spells at Chelsea, winning the Premier League whilst he was at it but is said to favour a move to Italy.
He’s certainly on a decline but he’d be a great acquisition for Manuel Pellegrini’s squad and will not only provide Rice with competition, but he’d be able to help him develop too.
The Serbia international’s contract may be a stumbling block, but this is a deal the Hammers could potentially pull off.
