West Ham United’s youth sides are flourishing with an array of exciting prospects this season and one of the leading names is Anthony Scully.
The 20-year-old has scored 10 goals and provided four assists in nine appearances as a centre-forward for the Under-23s this season.
He also claimed the September Premier League 2 Player of the Month award which has prompted many to call for his promotion to the first team.
Football.London journalist Sam Inkersole isn’t confident that will happen anytime soon though, regardless of his impressive form:
Scully has done fantastically well for the U23s but he’s not going to be pushing for a spot yet, especially with Michail Antonio coming back and Albian Ajeti starting to get more game time.

Looking at the eye-catching talent currently impressing for the U23s side especially, Scully is joined by the likes of Dan Kemp, Conor Coventry and Nathan Holland as the most notable names.
If you had to choose, you’d pick Holland as the starlet to break into the first team next after already making one appearance this season at Oxford United.
Scully can’t stop finding the back of the net though, and he’ll be more focused on his bright future rather than breaking into the senior squad right away.
