Despite reports of third-choice goalkeeper David Martin potentially entering the limelight against Tottenham Hotspur, it appears that Manuel Pellegrini may stick to his cards.
According to Claret & Hugh, under-fire star Roberto looks set to keep his place in between the sticks for the huge London derby next weekend.
A club source has today revealed:
It would be a shock of he called him into the first team – the likelihood is that Roberto will be given more time. Despite some big mistakes, there have also been some top saves and although anything is possible in this game, the present thinking seems to be that he will hold his place for the Spurs game.

The report claims that Martin is simply regarded as a ‘training ground’ goalkeeper and therefore won’t be in contention to start.
It would’ve been a massive call for Pellegrini to drop the back-up Spaniard, but the chances of that happening now look slim.
A string of high-profile mistakes have rightly place Roberto under major scrutiny by fans and pundits alike, but there’s still time to find form before Lukasz Fabianski returns from injury.
Hopefully, a top-class performance against Spurs can mend his reputation, or make a start in doing so.
