If you’re hoping West Ham United will splash the cash again in the January transfer window, you may be left disappointed.
According to the Daily Star, Manuel Pellegrini won’t be backed with a big budget to strengthen his squad midway through the season.
The report claims that questions have been asked over Pellegrini’s recent signings, with Roberto and Pablo Fornals, in particular, falling under scrutiny.
After a promising start to the 2019-20 campaign, West Ham are winless in their last seven games and now slump 16th in the Premier League.
Pellegrini’s squad has been slightly depleted with serious injuries to Lukasz Fabianski and Manuel Lanzini, but results simply haven’t been good enough.
READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
If this report is to be believed, it could be a hugely worrying signing that it’s the beginning of the end for Pellegrini at the Hammers.
The more likely reasoning behind the board’s decision not to back him in January is due to the amount spent in the summer to bring in Fornals and Sebastien Haller.
West Ham just seem to be lacking that extra bit of quality at the moment and could be a few more injuries away from being in real trouble.
