Angelo Ogbonna has enjoyed a fine individual season for West Ham United but has recently been controversially taken out of the starting line-up by Manuel Pellegrini.
The Italian centre-back has been an unused substitute in West Ham’s last three games after starting the eight previous outings.
Pellegrini’s decision has been the topic of mass questioning by supporters amid a woeful run of form…
Twitter: @westhamtransfer Only Pellegrini to blame for this. He has made some extremely odd decisions this season… (@Louislblair)
Twitter: @westhamtransfer 100% crazy how badly he has been treated (@andrewcobb20)
Twitter: @westhamtransfer Let’s ask @Ing_Pellegrini why Ogbonna has been dropped then?
Has to be a logical and well thought… https://t.co/hzy38jMLSH (@BradChuck)
Twitter: @westhamtransfer He does nothing wrong then Pellegrini decides to start balbuena as he “feels sorry for him”. What a joke. (@DPerfect5)
READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
Some fans were even suggesting Ogbonna was ‘Hammer of the Year’ so far before he was dropped, which made Pellegrini’s decision all the more baffling.
Many will be hoping he returns to the starting line-up against Tottenham Hotspur after the international break and helps the Hammers get back on track.
Unless the club knows something we don’t, it’ll just be even more confusing the longer he’s left out.
