Carlos Sanchez has played just 14 minutes in the Premier League this season and his last appearance came at the end of September against Oxford United; his move from Aston Villa has been nothing short of a flop.
The 33-year-old’s current West Ham United contract expires at the end of the season and it seems like the club will look to cash in on him earlier.
According to Claret & Hugh, West Ham will look to sell Sanchez in the January transfer window for a cut-price fee.
The report claims he’ll go for no more for £500k but Manuel Pellegrini seems to be ready to offload him, based on what a club source has claimed:
Obviously we would be ready to listen to offers for Carlos given he is coming to the end of his deal.
READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
A major injury last season all-but steered Sanchez’s West Ham career into the ground and he hasn’t recovered his place in the first team since.
Declan Rice has little to no defensive midfield competition and it’d be wise to take him off the wage bill whilst he’s clearly not part of Pellegrini’s plans.
Costing £50,000-a-week with next-to-no game time means a transfer away from the London Stadium is best for all parties involved.
