Manuel Pellegrini revealed ahead of last weekend’s loss to Burnley that he’s decided to let Grady Diangana complete his loan at West Bromwich Albion.
According to Claret & Hugh, that viewpoint may have changed though after West Ham United fell to a lifeless 3-0 defeat and Manuel Lanzini dislocated his collarbone at Turf Moor.
The report adds Lanzini could be out for up to 16 weeks and therefore the 21-year-old’s successful stint under former Hammers boss Slaven Bilic may be cut short.
A source has stated that the club will review their decision on 1 January once the fortnight-long recall clause in his contract comes into play.
READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
Diangana’s enjoying a brilliant stint in the Championship and is playing a key role in West Brom’s challenge for the league title.
If West Ham really need him it’d be interesting to see him return to the London Stadium but the club can’t stifle his development.
He can’t just return to East London and become a fringe player considering the form he’s showing for West Brom – that’d be pointless.
The electric winger will certainly add something to Pellegrini’s squad next summer, but I don’t think it’d be in his best interests if he’s made to return this early.
