Manchester United have been dealt a major injury blow ahead of Sunday’s clash against West Ham United, with four crucial players potentially missing.
West Ham will be confident as it is, with their only defeat of the season coming on the opening weekend, but the news coming out of Carrington will surely boost morale.
With Man United training ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League curtain-raiser against Astana at Old Trafford, four notable faces were missing.
Attacking duo Anthony Martial and Daniel James were nowhere to be seen, whilst Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba were doing light training away from the core squad.

With Arthur Masuaku missing the game through suspension, the fact that United could be missing two of their first-choice forwards should come as music to Manuel Pellegrini’s ears.
Pogba’s potential absence will make Declan Rice’s job protecting the defence much easier, whilst the Hammers’ right-winger could have a field day against Ashley Young if Shaw doesn’t make it.
It’s very possible that all four are simply being rested for the Europa League game in hope that at least a couple are ready to face West Ham, but the hosts should be confident either way.
