Arthur Masuaku will miss this weekend’s clash against Manchester United following his controversial red card in Monday’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.
Ahmed Elmohamady went down under pressure from Masuaku in the second half, despite there being minimal contact, which led to Mike Dean issuing his second yellow card.
West Ham United can’t challenge the decision due to the nature of Masuaku’s dismissal, so plenty of fans have been discussing who should take his place at left-back.
Pablo Zabaleta replaced him at Villa Park and despite there being Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson as natural options, the experienced Argentine is the favourite candidate to fill in…

Zabaleta didn’t look too bad when he came on against Villa but there were no left-back options on the bench alongside him.
I don’t think it’d be the right move to pick the 34-year-old over Cresswell or Johnson considering they’re natural left-backs.
You’d imagine Cresswell will return to the starting line-up – it’s such a huge game for Johnson to make his first Premier League start of the season in.
It’s clear plenty of Hammers fans want Zabaleta to start though, so it’ll be interesting to see what Manuel Pellegrini goes for.
