Manuel Lanzini has enjoyed a good start to the season, helping West Ham United secure seven points from their opening four Premier League games and signing a new four-year deal last week.
You can’t please everyone though, and SirusXM FC radio host Rodney Marsh has publicly claimed he’s “way too good” for West Ham, but would make a “great bench player” for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The former Queens Park Rangers and Man City forward has dealt two blows in one to Hammers supporters there, and plenty have taken the bait judging by their reactions…

It’s pretty clear from a neutral’s perspective that Marsh is simply fishing for reactions here, but it raises the question… is Lanzini better than West Ham?
We know he’s one of the club’s stand-out performers, but realistically I don’t think he goes to any of the ‘big six’ sides and has a guaranteed place.
Certainly not at Man City because, well, which player does at the moment? You could make an argument for him staking a claim at some the chasing pack though – Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Whatever pundits think, fans won’t care as long as Lanzini keeps on lighting up the London Stadium in Claret and Blue, and it’s great to see him commit his long-term future.
