After picking up seven points from their opening four Premier League games, West Ham United have reason to be optimistic going into the international break, because plenty of fans certainly are.
The Hammers have impressed after that thumping opening day defeat to Manchester City, picking up a point at recent bogey team Brighton & Hove Albion before comfortably beating Watford and Norwich City.
That haul leaves Manuel Pellegrini and Co. sitting pretty in seventh, just five points behind league leaders Liverpool, and September provides a favourable set of fixtures to continue the current run.
West Ham will visit Villa Park to face Aston Villa, before hosting Manchester United and travelling to League One Oxford United in the Carabao Cup, finishing the month with a trip to AFC Bournemouth.
Plenty of supporters are feeling very good about the team’s chances ahead of facing three outfits all lying below them in the table…

West Ham fans have plenty of reason to be eyeing a positive month ahead, with none of the three teams to face in the league setting the world alight so far.
From a neutral’s perspective, I’d say come out of September with five points and a place in the Carabao Cup Fourth Round and that’s a success.
The Hammers smell blood at the moment though, and there’s a real consensus of the sky’s the limit lingering around East London.
