Jack Wilshere earned mix reviews from his performance against Newport County on Tuesday, despite scoring his first goal for the club in a 2-0 win at Rodney Park.
Many West Ham United fans criticised his first-half display, while some recognised it as one of his best performances in a claret and blue shirt yet.
Manuel Pellegrini certainly seems impressed with what he saw from Wilshere and has teased fans he could return to the starting line-up against Norwich City on Saturday, as cited by Forever West Ham:
We cannot expect Jack to give the 100 per cent of quality he has because he is coming off a long injury. He played very well the other night [against Newport] not just because he scored, it was a complete game. We will see tomorrow if he makes the starting eleven for Norwich.

READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
Wilshere didn’t start as the Hammers beat Watford 3-1 last time out in the Premier League, with captain Mark Noble impressing in his place.
To drop Noble after his clear influence last weekend would be highly questionable of Pellegrini, especially after the result his side harvested.
Wilshere played well, in my opinion, against Newport, but there wouldn’t be much point in shifting too much around after such a showing.
