Watford have been dealt a triple injury blow ahead of West Ham United’s visit on Saturday, and Manuel Pellegrini’s side must take advantage.
Both sides will be aiming for their first three points of the season at Vicarage Road, but the hosts are missing crucial players.
Troy Deeney is out of action for ‘several weeks’ following successful knee surgery, but, as reported by Rookery Mike, midfield duo Abdoulaye Doucoure and Roberto Pereyra are also doubts.
It’s a contrast to West Ham’s fortunes, with Mark Noble, Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller all passed fit to feature.
READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
On a week of huge boosts in terms of team news for West Ham, Pellegrini will have gained confidence from the impending absence of Watford’s stars.
Doucoure is arguably one of the best midfield players outside of the top six and the heart of the Hornets’ line up is bound to be weakened without him.
Deeney is, of course, club captain so his leadership will be missed, whilst Pereyra’s creativity and flair is vital for Javi Gracia’s style of play.
The Hammers will certainly be more confident of taking another good result from Vicarage Road than they were a week ago, that’s for sure.
