West Ham United fans are enjoying a field day on social media after Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster shared a childhood picture of him alongside club legend Steven Gerrard… wearing a Hammers jacket!

It shouldn’t come as a shock that Brewster may be a closet West Ham fan; he’s from Chadwell Heath in Dagenham and was based down south until 2014 as he impressed in Chelsea’s youth set-up.
However, many fans have been taken by surprise at the entertaining revelation and are making themselves heard in Brewster’s comments section:
Twitter: @RhianBrewster9 @LFC Wait was @RhianBrewster9 at @WestHam and we let him go or does he just support us either way get him back !!

Twitter: @RhianBrewster9 @transpennineWHU @LFC Chadwell Heath boy,you should be at West Ham. You would probably have played… https://t.co/kIpfpvdQqL (@chrisrowe54)
Meanwhile, some Liverpool fans are weighing in on the reaction. Not that he’s stood next to one of their all-time greats, but his choice of clothing:

READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
I don’t think Brewster is a West Ham fan. He very well might be, but many are suggesting he played in the club’s academy before moving across London to Chelsea.
It’s all very amusing, nonetheless.
If Sebastien Haller and Albian Ajeti hadn’t have arrived during the summer, I’d confidently say the teenage sensation would probably start under Manuel Pellegrini, rather than warm the bench for the Reds.
I’m sure he’s very content with gaining first-team experience and, of course, lifting European silverware whilst he’s at it though, but that Liverpool front three is going to take some breaking into.
It’s unlikely many Hammers fans would be complaining if Brewster is leading the line at the London Stadium at some point in the future…
