READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
The Argentine is pivotal to the way Manuel Pellegrini wants his side to play; his ability to pick the ball up from deep and drive forward with such quality before having the flair to make create goal-scoring chances isn’t a common attribute.
Pellegrini, director of football Mario Husillos and co-owner David Sullivan are eyeing a West Ham squad full of attacking threat and will be desperate to make him central to their plans for the future.
After suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury last summer which kept him out of the 2018 World and the majority of the 2018-19 season, it’s fair that the club wanted to see how he fared on his return before offering him a long-term stay.
The fact West Ham are already preparing an offer, just two games into the new campaign, tells you all you need to know about how important he is.
